Ellie's blessing day!

We blessed Ellie on Sunday the 3rd of July.  It was awesome because both sides of our families were there.  It isn't very common that my family gets to be here for things like this so it was special for me to have them in town for it.  Our house is kind of small, not really the best entertaining house.  We knew we didn't have enough room for everybody to be inside.  Well, we probably could have made it work but we wanted to be outside.  Unfortunately we have no shade in our backyard at that time of the day.  No shade, zip, zadah, zilch.  We are planning on planting trees but it hasn't happened yet.  Anyway, Dan spent a lot of time on Saturday creating some shade with this awesome tarp deal.  Everyone was quite impressed with his invention.  As was I.
We have such supportive family and friends.  We feel so lucky to have such great people in our lives.

Cute picture guys.  We all dated and married around the same time.  We always have so much fun when we get to hang out with them.  I wish we did it more often.

Cute grandma's.

Ha! Mandy, that's what you get for hating getting your picture taken.

Brothers and their babies, cute.  I didn't realize you were eating Dean, sorry about that.

This picture could very well go down as the worst family blessing picture ever.  It was soooo hot.  I knew at the time that standing in the blazing sun was a terrible idea.  Why in the world wouldn't we just go in the house?  I have no idea what we were thinking.  You can't even see Ellie b/c her white dress is blending in with Dan's white shirt.  My camera had a setting off or something b/c it wasn't focusing very well.  Anyway I am very, very sad to report this is the only family picture we got this day.  I didn't get any with either set of parents, grandparents, nothing.  It's just terrible.  I am kind of bummed about it.  Hosting people is stressful.  I don't host very often so I never realized how much work and how stressful it can be.  My brain wasn't thinking this day.  I really was just so worried that everybody was going to sweat to death and be miserable.  I am pretty sure that everybody was sweating off any sort of calories they were consuming.  You should have seen all the kids.  They were purple they were so hot.  We had to bring them into the house in the basement to cool them off.  We survived but I think I wish we would have just crammed in the house.  We really need to plant trees as well.
Cute cousins Khiana and Ellie.  Seriously my camera was being so weird.  I don't know what setting I had off but boy was it off.

I hardly even got a decent picture of Ellie in her adorable dress that my mom bought.  Thanks Mom!  Ellie looked adorable even though I don't have a lot of pictures to show for it.

I actually think this picture turned out pretty cute of all of us.  Good job fam!  I guess I did get a picture of the whole fam.  It was Jen's idea.  Good thing somebody was thinking b/c I wasn't.

Sam NEVER falls asleep on my lap like this.  He was worn out from all week I think.  We were exhausted when everybody left.  I have a lot to learn about hosting people.  I think I could enjoy it I just don't do it very often.  Thank you everybody for coming to support us.  We love you all!

I need to put Ellie's 4 month stats in here.  I am so behind on the blog but I use it for my journal so I want to get these down.
Weight:  14 lbs 7 oz. -- 40%
Height:  24"-- 65%
Head:  41.5 cm -- 65%

So her head isn't as small as Sam's always has been.  And just like Sam she looks huge but doesn't weigh a ton.  A few things about Ellie:
-She is truly an angel baby.  She has her days and moments but for the most part she is just an amazingly happy baby.  I honestly think the Lord knew I couldn't handle a grumpy baby.
-She loves Sam and Sam can get her to laugh like nobody else.
-She is really getting into the everything in your mouth, chew on everything stage.
-She loves, loves her daddy.  She just lights up when she sees him.
-She has the most beautiful eyes that I am in love with.  They will probably change but I am enjoying them sooo much.
-I could snuggle and hug her all day long.  Really, I could.
-She is a little dramatic about little things sometimes but I think it's just b/c she's a girl. :-)
-Not a huge fan of tummy time and I always forget to have her do it.  So she probably won't crawl forever.
-She is already a much better sleeper then Sam was.  I learned my lesson the hard way that is for sure.  Sam was terrible but she is awesome.  I will feed her around 10:00 or 10:30 and then she won't wake up until about 4:00 or so.  I think that's pretty good myself.
We love having this little girl in our family.  I hope her happy personality stays.  Oh my goodness, I really can't even express how in love I am with her.  Love you Ells Bells!

Ah, that last picture is precious, her expressions are so darling. all of our blessing pics seem to be sleeping or crying shots, you got some classic ones! Even the outdoor pics, sorry for not noticing the dress and shirt blend in your fam pic, I'm sure it was just the heat, no one could think straight, but you guys still look great and by the time you're taking the baptism pics it will be part of the good memory and you can try to get a pic where her dress isn't blending with his white outfit--good luck with that ;-)
