Happy, Happy Birthday Sammy Dear!!

He is officially 2 and he is a sponge.  His vocabulary is exploding and I could not be happier about that.  This is him on the morning of his Birthday which was a Sunday so it was nice to be able to hang out and play with his toys before church.  We didn't get him much.  Just a little hit thing which I told him to put closer to his face so I could get a picture and he took it literally.

We also got him a choo choo train which he is currently obsessed with.  His train obsessions just started a couple weeks ago and he is just loving them.

I didn't realize how much he would actually like the putting the track together part.  I'm pretty sure he likes putting it together more then he likes to drive the train on it.  We were at Ikea shopping for some bookcases and saw this cute train.  I am kicking myself for not going to Costco first.  They have some really, really cute trains there for only like $5 more.  I guess Santa will have to look into that.  The train was a good buy.  He still plays with it a lot which to me means it was a great buy. 

We had dinner at the Simmons' residence.  Sam and Mom S share the same birthday so we had a dual birthday celebration.  I made the cake and I had a little batter left over so I made Sam a little cake to go along with the other one.  He really liked blowing the candles out and kept showing me how he did it.

 

Danny had the camera and this is the best shot we got of the birthday girl but at least we got a shot.  She doesn't look a day over 32, would you agree???  Sam got a sweet little golf club set and a little drum with some great clothes from Mimi and Papa.  He loved both of them of course. 

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Neilsons after the birthday celebration at the Simmons.  He got a sweet buzz bike and some cute clothes from them and loves them.  They were nice enough to put it all together so he didn't just have to look at a box.  Good thinking ahead folks!!

As previously mentioned he has been loving Toy Story so he loved the Buzz bike.  That sweet Buzz talks and there's lights that light up.  It was a big hit.  I need to add some wood to the pedals b/c it's a little big but he is still always trying to ride it.  

It was a great birthday and he keeps teasing us when we ask him how old he is.  He keeps saying one and then just giggles and giggles.  He thinks he is so funny.  

Some people like all stages but I'm not going to lie from about 15-16 months to 20-21 months was really hard for me.  I don't know if it was the constant whining or the fact that their attention span is just so short, I don't know.  It was just hard for me and probably will be with all of our kids.  But I can honestly say I am loving this age.  He is so much fun and we really just have so much fun.  Talking back and forth, playing for longer then a nano second, reading stories and him actually sitting and listening.  I just love it!
