2 Year Check-up and shots!

Oh my word, he has changed so much.   Oh, I love those baby pictures.  Anyway, moving on.  I was dreading taking Sam to his Drs appointment b/c he remembers the shot an the second they call us to the back he starts crying.  Things were not different this time around.  She called Samuel and he instantly starting crying and the crying continued for the next 20-25 min.  Cried when the nurse left the room, cried when the nurse and doctor were in the room, you get the picture.  He was seriously freaking out when we laid him on the table to get his height and weight.  I think that it actually made the nurse not get  a very accurate reading on his height.  We had him flat on his back and he was squirming/screaming truly freaking out.  She did the best that she could but there was no way we could get him to calm down so we took what we could get.  His stats are below:

Height:  33 inches -         10%
Weight:  26 lbs. 10 oz. -   35%
Head Circumference: 47 cm - 15%

We thought for sure he was going to be taller this go around.  But the doctor still calls him pint size.  He has grown but I guess not as much as we thought.  He's healthy so I'm not too worried about it.  He actually stopped crying right before she came to give him the shots.  He got three shots and he of course freaked out when the shots actually took place.  He was sitting on my lap and it was torture.  I made it through without crying but I sure was close.  He knew we were done after the shots so he almost immediately stopped crying.  He was so happy to be all done.  I was also glad it was all done.  Until next year!

Things about Sam at 2 years old:
-Still wakes up pretty early.  Anywhere between 6 and 6:45.  I am grateful it's not 5:30 but come on, just 7:30?
-He's a tough kid.  He falls all the time and for the most part will just hop up and go about what he is doing.
-Loves to help me around the house and I love it as well.  I just love how helpful he is now.
-He is bossy, bossy, bossy.  Always telling us 'wake up mommy/daddy,' 'sit down here', 'come downstairs,' 'tickle my foot,' 'sing me a song' and the list goes on and on.  Our current favorites are the wake up and get out or come on.
-Asks me why, why, why, why, why over and over and over.  Aren't they suppose to be older when they start that?  It makes me laugh but since he doesn't understand the answer most the time I do get a little frustrated.  I think he knows it drives me crazy and that's why he does it.
-Loves fruit but still struggles in the veggie department.  I blame myself for that.
-Still obsessed with his sippy cup.  I don't have the energy to break him of it yet.
-Sticks his hand down his shirt for comfort.  If you are around him for just 10 min. you will probably see him walking around with his hand down his shirt.
-He can drop kick the ball and I'm pretty proud of him for that.  He taught himself and I am pretty impressed.
-Has started to sit and watch a movie.  Praise the heavens for that.  He won't just sit and watch an entire movie but I will take 20-30 min. any day.
-Loves puzzles and is quite good at them.
-Loves to be outside, what kid doesn't?
-He can actually entertain himself now.  It's pretty sweet actually.  It really helps my sanity that I don't have to entertain him all day.  I love playing with him and we have fun together but the all day thing was really hard for me.  Don't judge.
-He has been awesome at saying please and thank you lately.  I am kind of a nazi about it so I think he has learned.  I still have to remind him to say please sometimes but he usually  says thank you.  I'm sure the teaching on this will continue for years to come but we're working on it.
Okay that is a pretty good list.  Some of our favorite phrases from him lately.
My ultimate favorite is 'what happened?'  Oh my word, I just love it.  I saw 'oh shut' a lot and he usually always asks me what happened after that.  'What you doin mommy/daddy' is another one of my current favorites.  'Oh, it's dark in here', 'oh shut', 'wake up', 'come on, let's go'.  He is saying so much it honestly just makes me so happy.  The whining is cut down so much now that we can communicate.
