I thought the worst was over.

I suffered a LARGE tragedy a few months back. We lived at the Simmons house for about a month before our house was done. I had all of my favorite workout clothes up there as well as some of my favorite flip flops. I just grabbed my favorite things for the few weeks we would be there. Anywho in the move down to our house somehow the bag of my favorite workout clothes went missing. MISSING, GONE, DISAPPEARED. I know this may not seem like a big deal to most of you but it was and is a huge deal to me. My absolute favorite pair of running shorts were in that bag. These shorts were the perfect length. Not to long, not too short and they were stretchy so I could wear them with about a 20 lb. weight loss/gain. Great for the transition times between not hugely pregnant yet and also after I had Sam and hadn't lost all the weight yet and then great after I did lose the weight. They sit perfectly on my hips and wouldn't push out any love handles that may want to hang out for all to see. Along with the shorts I am missing a couple sports bras, a couple tank tops and my favorite pair of workout capris. Remember, all of my favorite work out clothes. Meaning all the workout clothes left I don't really like, they don't fit good, too tight, too big, you get the picture. Why not just go buy a new pair of the same shorts you ask? Because they are no where to be found. I got this pair of shorts at a bin at the end of a race for $5 dollars. They were NewBalance so I have searched on line to find them but have found nothing similar. have I tried to get over it, yes. I have tried very, very, very hard. I mean there is no sense in stewing over it when no amount of frustration is going to bring all my workout clothes back but I still struggle. I am pretty sure that I ended up taking the wrong bag to the DI. Kill me! I have searched and searched for a similar pair of shorts but still no luck. So if you know of any, please let me know. I have found a couple tank tops that I like so that makes me happy.
As if this wasn't bad enough it is getting a little warmer here which means the flip flops need to come out b/c they are so fast, easy, comfortable and I LOVE them. Well the other day I went searching for my favorite pairs of flips flops and they are missing. Sure they aren't anything super cute shown in the picture above but I loved them. I am a flip flop snob and I can't have the plastic kind b/c they tear  my feet up. They have to be cloth or something other then plastic and they just have to be comfy. The only thing I can think is that they were also in the bag that went to DI to make some other person very happy. Sigh! Sure it is easy to say get over it and I am trying. Who knew this would bring so much frustration. So mad at myself, how could I have done that? One day I will find a pair of shorts that I love, I hope. I did find a pair of running shorts and I do like them but I'm kind of thinking they are short and if I eat a lot boy howdy can I tell. They aren't super stretchy and are not forgiving of putting on a few pounds. Okay, I am done ranting about this. Get over it Em, they aren't coming back. So much easier said then done.
So if you have a favorite pair of shorts or a tank top, give it a hug today b/c you just don't realize how good you have it until it is taken away from you. That last sentence was a joke but I really do miss my favorite workout clothes and flip flops. Farewell good friends!!

*In the big scheme of things I do realize that this is petty. Especially considering Haiti and Chile and all the people that have lost everything. Heaven knows how long that post would be if that happened to me. :-) I am still grateful for all I have don't get me wrong here folks. Also, sorry for the gross picture of the flip flops shown above. It was taken about 2 days before I gave birth to Sam so my feet are swollen.

I don't blame you for being so sad you lost your favorite everything of clothes and shoes! SO SAD! I would be upset too. As for flip flops, I suggest you go on-line to Sierra trading post and look under there clearance stuff. I got Teva flips flops just barely for 12 bucks. Great deal, great shoe. Love em. As for running stuff, I really like the Danskin stuff at walmart, cheap, but very comfy.

hilarious (i mean, I know it's not funny to you, but hey).. I always feel bad when I complain about lame things, too, but just because there are worse things out there doesn't mean it doesn't suck! I wonder if it is genetic to obsessively think about stuff like that because whenever I lose something I can not forget about it fr a long time! good luck!
