First tumble down the stairs

Sam took a tumble down the stairs at the Simmons a little while ago. I thought that I had shut the door behind me but apparently I did not. I heard a boom, boom, boom and then of course his screaming. He got some nasty carpet burn on his nose. The scabs actually just fell off a couple days ago but everybody that saw him commented on it. Poor kid! He only cried for about a minute and then it never seemed to bother him after that. It just looked pretty bad.

During the un-packing process he found our gum stash. He thought it was hilarious and was so proud of himself.

And I just had to blog about his pimp jacket that Mom S got for him. I think it is adorable and I can't tell you how many comments I have gotten on it but I think he kind of looks like a little pimp in it.

Another first for Sam is playing in the snow. HE LOVES IT!! He loves to eat the snow which is really not surprising. The cold doesn't seem to bother him at all. His mom absolutely hates being cold so he doesn't get to play as much outside as he would like. I am a total wimp in the cold. Oh and if anybody knows where I can find small gloves for his hands please let me know. All the gloves I've found are way to big.

Sam is REALLY struggling with his sleeping which isn't really all that surprising b/c he has never been the best sleeper but as of late he is killing us. He was actually doing wonderful the last couple of weeks in our apartment and then after the move to the Simmons and then the move to our house he has been having a rough time. Last night for example he woke up at 1:45 and cried until about 2:45 when Dan and I both decided to give in and give him a sippy cup. It is a habit that I am really not wanting to get into but when your child is crying for an hour and doesn't seem to be giving we caved. I actually went into his room about 2:15 and just rocked him and tried to get him back to sleep that clearly didn't work. So when I went back in there at 2:45 I was trying to rock him and he was just all over the place so I let him down and he started giggling and running around. Picked up a couple of his books and started looking at them ran out of his room and into ours and started screaming and laughing to get Danny up. Kind of funny as I'm typing it but when it is 3 am and you have just heard your child cry for an hour it isn't so funny. He continues to wake up way to early for both me and Danny's liking. As of late he has been waking up around 5:45- 6:30. I find it pretty sad that my 4 month old nephew Fox is sleeping better then his 14 month old cousin Sam. Oh and did I mention that Sam has actually only slept through the night (like 8 pm to 7 am) like 5 times in the entire 14 months of his life? It's not very cool but we still love him.

He's going to get into his groove any day now (positive thinking, right?) - at least he eats more kinds of foods than his 4 year old cousin Lauren :)
