Still busy......

Me,Sam and Big D

Thursday July 9th we went to the Zoo in the morning and then I was crazy and drove all the way up to Cherry Hill that afternoon. Some girlfriends and I planned a play date and I didn't want to bail so I drove up there. We did have a good time so I was glad I went but I was pretty tired after this day.

I love the Zoo and I was really excited to see if Sam would like it. He did a lot of pointing and talking gibberish and his surprised face. I think he really liked it. Here he is trying to get that fox looking thing. He tried pretty hard to touch a lot of the animals.

The hippos are usually my favorite at the zoo but would you believe the Hogle Zoo doesn't have any hippos? What the lame? So I think my favorite this time were the giraffes. I don't know why I just really liked the tall guys this time around. It had been a while since I had been to the Zoo.

I walked around the corner and found Carmen standing like this not moving. I asked her what she was doing and she said "being a statue" and then promptly went back into statue pose. This girl is such a sassafrass. I mean, who does that? I found it pretty funny. It reminds me of the giraffe pictured below. This little guy just stood there like a statue FOREVER. I was amazed by it for some reason. I mean, he didn't even blink, it was crazy. (Ok, I obviously couldn't tell if he was blinking or not but I'm telling you the giraffe didn't move a muscle.)

The pregnant elephant that was due in like 2 or 3 weeks. Poor 2 year pregnant elephant.

Sam was dying to get out and crawl around so I let him. Yes, the ground was pretty dirty but I was really sick of fighting him so I gave in. Weak sauce, I know.

That night my mom and I went to see the movie 'The Proposal' and we both really liked it. It had a couple crude parts but all in all I thought it was really funny. I like both Sandra Bullock and whatever the guys name is; so that always helps when you are judging a movie. That was the first movie I had been to in the theatre since Sam was born. Sad really. Phew, what a day!

Friday Liz and Toby left bright and early and I just went up and hung out at my moms with the kids for a while.

Saturday we went up to the Brigham city canyon for a family party. We have done this for as long as I remember. The attendance has died down greatly but I have so many great memories up in that canyon. I use to love going up there and camping when I was younger. The kids had a great time playing on the rope swing

and posing for pictures.

And Sam had a great time just smiling and being a complete cheese ball to everybody there. He was the entertainment for us all for a while. He just has so much personality I love it!

I made it through one week and I still have a few more days to post but I am tired so that will have to wait until we return. Later!
