I'm pretty sure every baby I have ever known always wants to play with things that they can't have or aren't necessarily toys. Sam is no different. I will give him a toy to play with and I will grab something like a soda or my water to take a drink and he will automatically drop his toy and lunge for whatever is in my hands. Well, I was holding him while brushing my teeth the other day and he was attacking my toothbrush so I handed him one of the extras we had in our drawer. He has loved it ever since. It has a soft cover and it kind of squeaks when he bites it. Sometimes he will flip it around to chew on the bristles. I guess it's a good habit to start early. I actually entertain him with a lot of household items that I would never have thought of as toys; Measuring cups, highlighters, cups, etc. Now if I can just figure out how to get him to want his toys as much as he wants all the other things that ever touch my hands.

toys are for leaving in a messy pile--non-toys are for being entertained with for long periods of time, and yet we still try. Maddie has an obsession with my bluetooth earpiece, she loves to turn it over on her fingers and stare at all different angles.
Em after reading your Holy Cow It's Feb. already, I have decided that your life is "ish" That is what motherhood is "ish"!
