It's time to get back in the saddle, because we're going to the races!!

It's been a long time since I ran a race.  I think the last one I did was a half marathon in Fall of '07 right before I got pregnant. I decided to get back in the saddle and register for a couple of races. I'm not doing the full ogden marathon, I don't think I'm ready for a full quite yet. I am doing the Ogden half marathon in the middle of may and then the Wasatch back relay in June. Prices for races are going up though. I paid $55 to run the half. Highway robbery if you ask me. However, I am doing the Wasatch back for FREE!!! That's right folks, free. Registration alone for that race is close to $100 a person. I'm sure I'll have to pay for gas and food during the race but that's fine. I got on a team of somebody in our ward who is sponsoring the race so everybody is running for free. I am sooooo excited! I love the wasatch back and can't wait. Well, actually I can wait because I need to get in better shape. I have been good some weeks and not so good other weeks since Sam was born but now I really need to buckle down and get serious about training. I went 6 miles the other day and 5 today and it felt pretty good. I've got a ways to go until I'm ready for the half and the wasatch back but being registered will help motivate me to train hard. Did I mention how excited I am for both of these races? :-) I'll let you know how my training is going the next couple of months and then how the race goes when I'm done with them. I have to go get ready for New Beginnings with the YW tonight. We're having cashew chicken, yummy!!

Hooray for running races!! I just finished the Sedona 1/2 this past weeked (I still need to post about it) and it was super tough!! As it turns out, there are a lot of hills in Sedona.... lame!!! But, very beautiful!!! And then I am running the Del Sol Ragnar Relay here in AZ in a few weeks. I got sucked in by one of the moms whose kids I teach and they were thrilled to have somebody who has done it before.... I couldn't resist! Anyways, we miss you guys! Good luck with the training!!!!

Em Em Em! When are we going to go running? I know know, when old man winter gives up the ghost and goes away. I pray for it every night, I do! I went 5 on Saturday and was it a workout for me! That's furthest I've gone since being pregnant with the babe. Our jogger is ready and waiting whenever you and the SamMan want to go...I've got to get serious about the training too. I'm just glad I got in!

Good for you! That is so great. I am also training for a race in May. Only it is a Triathlon. I don't think I could do a Marathon. Actually, I probably could if I had the desire, but running is not my strong point. Hence the Triathlon!
