Halloween Day!

Wow, almost done with all of these Halloween posts.  Halloween day was fun but tiring.  We went to Fresh Market for a trunk or treat to see some of my Young Women that were participating.  Sam liked it okay.  Ellie was asleep in the car so I left her there.  The car was never out of my sight but I'm still glad nobody called the cops on me.  Seeing how that is illegal and all that.  After that I saw a bunch of people walking on Bountiful Main Street and I forgot that they did a trick or treating on Main Street so I thought why not, we've got time to kill.  The kids did amazingly well.
The trick or treating was okay.  Bountiful Main Street is pretty long.  It's probably about 10 blocks or so. We didn't mind the walk at all and the weather was gorgeous so it was nice to be out and enjoying the weather.  But when stores hand out one jolly rancher, I mean, come one people.  One jolly rancher, LAME!  Sam loved it and Ellie was an angel so I was glad we had something to do to pass the time until Dan got home to take Sam trick or treating.  They have this cute door that people are always taking pictures by and I parked right by it so I plopped the kids down to try to get a cute picture.  One can always try I guess.  I didn't get any great ones but I still love my ladybug and monkey.

Dan came home and took Sam trick or treating and he loved it.  They were gone for about an hour and a half.  I was surprised Sam lasted that long.  He was super tired when they got home but he did great.
Sam got a ton of Halloween candy and has pretty much forgotten about it.  I am kind of sad to admit that I think it is b/c I always have so much candy in my candy drawer.  I just put all the candy in the candy drawer and he will ask for it now and then but not a ton.  He has enjoyed having chocolate treats b/c I don't buy a ton of chocolate stuff.  Just not a huge fan.
A couple quick things about the kids.
Ellie is getting so close to crawling.  I really can't wait until she crawls so she will stop flipping out when she can't get anywhere.  She is definitely at the frustrated stage.  She wants to be mobile but just can't figure it out yet.  She is a dramatic little girl and has tiny feet.  All of the shoes I have for her right now are 0-3 months or 0-6.  Anything over 6 months are huge and fall right off.  However, she is wearing 12 month old clothes.  Says Mama really well now and loves peek a boo, me singing and the mirror.  She loves her daddy and Sam as well.  Oh and she loves food.  Here's to hoping she'll be a better eater then Sam.
Sam is a talker.  I mean he talks ALL DAY LONG.  I am not kidding, some days I really can't take it anymore.  When people joke about kids asking why a lot they are not joking around.  I have never been asked so many questions in my entire life.  I really do try to be patient with him b/c he's just curious about stuff but I do tend to lose it sometimes.  Especially after the third time of me answering the same question.  We had to go on a quite drive the other day b/c I couldn't take the talking and questions anymore.  He couldn't understand why it had to be a quite drive but it was so quite and so nice I loved it.  I was shocked he did so well being quite.
Another funny thing lately with Sam is spelling.  Dan and I spell stuff like "you might want to grab his s-i-p-p-y.  And he will say 'my p-r-u-t-x (or whatever random letters), no, I don't want that'.  He has no idea what we are talking about but he tries to spell it back and flips out b/c he thinks it's something bad.  Oh it is funny.  The kid cracks us up everyday.  I think he might crack me up even more if he wouldn't talk so much.  Kidding, it is good for him so I really just pray for A LOT of patience.  Heaven knows I need it!

That picture by the door is adorable! I wonder why we both have such chatty kids - where could they possibly get it from? I also laughed so hard when you said you don't really like watching other peoples kids - for some reason that does not surprise me ;). Love all the updates and the pics !

Oh I love you Em! And I love reading your posts. You are so good at writing it all down and as I read yours it makes me realize how mad I am that I have been such a bad blogger lately, but thank you for helping me remember all those little things I don't want to forget. Like the "why" questions and the talking. Sounds way too familiar. That cracked me up that he tries to spell things out after you do. What a funny kid! Ellie is getting so big and adorable. We definately need to do a play date soon now that it is cold. We can come here or wherever but we need to do it!
