Christmas was a fun day. We were at my parents for a couple hours and they gave us all way too much stuff. My niece Maddison got this cat and Sam loved it. I hate cats and this cat totally creeped me out. It would move and meow just when somebody walked by it. He really couldn't get enough and it was pretty cute. He kept going up to it and grabbing it's face saying "hi kitty, hi kitty" and other random things. We had to move it after a little while b/c it was really creeping Darrell and I out.
We headed over to the Simmons' house for annual omelet brunch. Mad was apparently wiped out from all of the festivities. Sorry Mad, this is for posting that hideous picture of me on facebook when I was extremely huge being pregnant with Sam. This picture isn't bad at all, hope you're not mad. ;-)

We were at the Simmons for a few hours and then we went back to my parents house to eat some more. Really not looking forward to getting on the scale when I go to the doctor tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I'm going to close my eyes when I get on the scale.
Sunday we were back to my parents to spend some time with my family before most of them headed home. I cannot believe how fast the weekend went but it was a lot of fun. Sam loves all of his cousins. He doesn't get to see the California cousins very often and he was loving playing with the older boys Josh and Tyler. In fact he freaked out when we took him to nursery. He just kept saying " i want to go see Josh and Tyler, Josh and Tyler." It was great fun!
Monday night we were back up to the Simmons for our Pixie exchange gifts. I love Pixie's I think it is such a fun idea. We all draw a name around Thanksgiving and then we give and do little things for them all month. We get together usually on Christmas but we waited a few days for several reasons to guess who our Pixie is and give them our gift. It's just fun, I hope it's a tradition we keep doing in the Simmons fam. Monica and Brad came in town for the week so everyone was there but Shell and Tyler on Monday. Mom S of course had it all set up real cute. Our Pixie was Dad S and he was an AMAZING PIXIE! I can't even begin to tell you everything he gave us or I would be here all night. Mom S deserves some of the credit as well. I don't know if she did it all but I know she did lot's of it so THANK YOU!!!
Monica and Brad announced that they were expecting a baby in July and Mandy and Trent announced that they were expecting in August. Dean and Mary are due with a boy at the end of May so that makes 4 babies coming to the Simmons family this 2011 year. That's a lot of babies! I think we should shoot for 5. Don't get any ideas Olivia and Madeline. :-) Come on Shell, make it five would ya'!! Just kidding but seriously that's a lot of babies joining a family in one year. It will be crazy but so much fun.
I was thinking the other day we should have gotten a picture with all of us lined up in our different stages. I think I overheard Monica say she was coming back in March so if she comes before our baby comes we can still do it. Even if she comes after we can still get one just with me holding the baby I guess. Oh heavens, I digress.
Tuesday I watched my niece Maddison while her family went snowboarding. Poor girl didn't have much fun but we tried. We met up with them at Cafe Rio as a farewell dinner. The Chambers family took off Wednesday morning before the big storm.
Sam with his best buddies. He was being so funny. I got him some food and he promptly grabbed his plate to take it to the table to sit with the big kids. Dan went over there to sit and he kept telling him to go back to the other table. Too cool for dad already I guess. :-)
Maddie and Mia didn't want to get left out of the picture so we had to take another one. Some people may get sick of Cafe Rio but I have yet to reach that point. I really do love it.
Wednesday I spent hours cooking goodies to take to a friend's get together we were suppose to have that night. I thought maybe the storm would be a flop b/c it got started late but it came in fast and furious. I HATE, HATE driving in the snow. I'm a big baby. So I really didn't want to drive in it but I didn't want them to not have treats so I was torn. I was relieved when Cyd called to tell me they were going to cancel. The only down side? Having tons of treats to call my name.
Luckily the Simmons clan helped us eliminate some of these from our home, thank you all. I just finished the last noodle cluster today. I put all the black licorice caramels in the freezer b/c I didn't cook them long enough and they are a little gooey for my own liking. So there is still plenty of those to go around. When you see my pregnancy pictures with my growing behind you will have no questions as to why my bottom is getting so large. Where in the world has all my will power gone? Okay, this is long enough for a post so I'll continue in a Part 3. I think I'm almost done with the holiday posts. It's hard to force myself to get it all down but I know I will be glad that I did it.
