So many project, so little time. We have really been trying to get organized around here and I must say we have been doing a pretty good job. We finally got bookshelves upstairs which helped with the boxes of books we had sitting in the basement. I was also able to get the Christus up and displayed that Dan gave me like 4 years ago. We have a long way to go but we are making progress. Anywho, there were a couple rooms in the basement that we didn't really do much with. When you have 2,000 or so square feet that you've already decided to renovate you decide to leave some rooms out. I really wish I would have taken a picture of this room at the very beginning. It was full of a ton of stuff. Most of the stuff was from Dan's parents, so pretty much his whole life. There were boxes and boxes and boxes of stuff. I really was proud of him for how much he got it cleaned up and organized. I'm glad I at least got a picture of the room before the painting.
It's a little messy right now but just be grateful that you can't see all of the candy wrappers in the garbage can. Yikes! When i see all the wrappers in there knowing that I ate all of that I get sick. I really have a candy problem. I should be 500 pounds. I might need a sugar intervention in the near future. I always digress, sorry folks!
Anyway, having an extra room that we actually use now is awesome!
On the same organization/renovation note we got Sam a big boy bed. No more crib for this little boy.
He has been doing so well, Dan and I have both been so proud of him. We got it Tuesday night and he was off the walls excited, seriously wired! We decided to put it together and let him sleep in it on Tuesday. Just so happens once we got it together he informed us the he wanted to sleep in his crib. It was so late and we were both tired that we were totally fine with that. Wednesday he still wanted to sleep in his crib so we were fine with that b/c again we were too tired to fight it. Thursday night was his first night and we were shocked at how well he did. Once we put him in his bed we did hear him playing. We went in there and he had turned his play sword on so that he could see and was eating wheat thins that I had left in there. Ha, ha, funny kid. He kept opening the door and closing it and not saying a word. Dan and I thought it was funny and we knew it was all new for him and he was just exploring with it a little bit. Anyway, Dan went in there and told him he needed to stay in his bed and close his eyes. We didn't hear a peep the rest of the night. Friday, same thing. He really has been doing awesome and I love it! He can come out of his bed on his own now and nobody has to get up to get him out of his crib. And believe it or not I think I might actually put something on his walls soon. I am terrible at decorating, terrible I tell you. Well, I guess this is growing up!
