We hit up Peter Pan. Actually I think Wed. was the day we went over to the little kid rides in the morning. It doesn't matter but check out my sister in the back. Nice Michelle--hilarious!
Sam with Grandma and Grandpa in line for Peter Pan. He was freaking out early on this one so we were trying to keep him distracted from the ride.
Classic Sword in the Stone picture. Dan and are pretty sure we almost got it out but it just wasn't our day. Maybe next time.
Here I am waiting to ride Autotopia. I remember liking this ride so much more when I was younger. It's probably b/c I couldn't drive back then so it was a real treat. It was still fun to go with Mia though. She was a pretty crazy driver.
Yet again, Sam reaching for me to take him out. I think he liked it towards the end as usual.
We were all just hanging out here for whatever reason, I can't remember why but Buzz Light year walked by. We followed him and pushed our way in to get a picture. This is the only character Sam had a total break down with. He was terrified of Buzz. Which is funny b/c as of this last week he is obsessed with Toy Story. Go figure!
I was super excited to finally run into Goofy on our last day. I think Goofy is my favorite or at least one of them so I was glad we finally got a picture with him.
Most of the family went to California Adventure Park to go on the new Toy Story ride. The wait for the ride was really long and I am pretty sure I am one of the most inpatient people in the world so I didn't want to wait. There was a small group that wanted to go on the Screamin' Roller Coaster so Sam and I waited at this little area for them to pull up. Sam was flipping out when he saw all of them. Jumping, dancing, he just thought it was the best. I took this picture just before they were shot off for a crazy ride. It's a fun roller coaster but last time I went on it I sat in the fetal position for a good 30 min. due to motion sickness so I decided I didn't want to go through that again.
While we waited Sam and I took advantage of the Mickey that was hanging out. It would have been nice if Mickey would have turned towards the camera but we'll take what we can get I guess.
Since the line for Toy Story was so long the people that rode the roller coaster had enough time to hop in line with them if they wanted. I still didn't feel like waiting but they offered to take Sam so I handed Sam off to them to go on the Toy Story ride and Dan and I decided to just wait. While were waiting I told Dan he should go on the rocket ride he said he had wanted to try so he went on that and nearly walked right on.
He like it and everybody seemed to enjoy Toy Story. I myself truly enjoyed my delicious buttery, salty popcorn I treated myself to while I waited. We had to hurry back to the hotel to check out. The hotel was right across the street from the parks and it was super, super nice. We walked back and got all checked out and headed back to go on a few more rides at Disneyland. We only had about 3 hours before we had to be out of the hotel parking lot so some of the crew went to Space Mountain with fast passes (how did we survive Disneyland without those) and I took Sam to Toontown with my mom and Kath. He didn't like it as much as I thought he would. But he was tired, I was tired and that definitely affected the outcome. It was still fun however.
He loved these chickens. Their heads would go up and down and he just thought it was so funny.
LOOK!! Dan and I actually got a picture of us together. So cute, I know!
I wanted to get the classic picture at the front of Disneyland but there were a ton of people and yet again I didn't want to wait so we just went to the side. Not as good but oh well.
If you are ever in Disneyland you have to go to the Tiki bar by the Jungle cruise and get a pineapple whip. It is like pineapple ice cream and oh my, it is delightful. I told Dan to just get the whip and not the float but he didn't listen and got the float anyway. You might find it interesting that he later admitted to wishing he had just gotten the whip. If he only would have listened. :-) I was kind of under the impression that we were going to share but when I realized that I had two bites and it was already gone Dan did not have the same idea. Next time, I'm getting my own. It really was good!
We did a little souvenir shopping and we were done. It went by so fast but it was so much fun.
We were now off for the beach where we were going to be staying for the next couple of nights. The beach was beautiful. Wed. when we got there Sam was LOVING the beach. I had left my camera in the car and my mom left to go grocery shopping so I didn't get the pictures of him running around the beach in just a diaper. My sister Kath got them on hers so I will have to wait for the master CD to get those. They were so cute. Anyway, that night we all just got situated and had dinner. Jen and Michelle's families and Mike camped on the beach and the rest of us stayed in a little condo place.
It was pretty chilly at the beach. But it was beautiful.
Check out that sunset!I love this picture. I'm not sure what was said but look at Dan's face. Darrell seems un-phased by the conversation but Robie seemed thoroughly entertained by the conversation.
Thursday was just a beach day and it was so nice to just sit and lounge. I don't think this relaxation day could have been on a better day. After three busy days at Disneyland it was nice to just relax.
Sam loves the sand. He did not care in the least that it was in every nook and cranny of his little body.
I was really lazy this day, like really lazy. I sat in that chair a lot. It wasn't super hot it was still pretty cool so we could sit in the sun and not get fried or die of heat stroke.
It took Sam a while to get warmed up to the water on this day but eventually he got a little wet. Most of the adults never got in the water b/c it was freezing cold. The kids were die hards though and they jumped the waves a little bit.
All the kids pretty much played in the sand all day long. Amazing how much entertainment it can provide. They decided to bury Sam and he loved it.
My mom worked her tail off to make sure everybody was fed. We had delicious tin foil dinners and they were really good. I was also able to have the s'mores I have been craving since about May. Don't ask me why but they have sounded so good to me and I finally had some, they were awesome. I won't mention how many I ate. Let me just say I was sick after eating them. Yeah, I had too many but it was worth it.
Handsome boys, I know!
I just love this one!
Not sure what I said but he wasn't happy about it. Oh how I miss those wings behind his ears. I decided when we got home from vacation and I could pull the wings back and put them in a pony tail if I wanted they were too long. Those curls were so cute but he does look better and not as white trash with them gone.
It was a great day. We left Friday morning to go back to my sisters houses in San Diego. I will post about the Zoo and Sea World later. Man, all this blog catching up is wearing me out.
