Prayers, Parks and Poop!

I just wanted to do a quick post of a few things about Sam. Shocker, I know. He's 20 months now, crazy! I can't believe I almost have a 2 year old, seems weird.
When we were in St. George there were a couple of times I set him up in a chair to eat or just sit, I can't really remember. It doesn't matter but after I set him in the chair he would fold his arms and start jabbering like he was saying a prayer followed by Amen. I found it hilarious so I tried to grab a picture one of the times.

He doesn't cooperate very well when we have family prayer at night. Well, I take that back. Dan or I will start to pray, he will jabber and then say Amen really fast. As if to say, "hurry it up, you guys are taking forever. " He claps after he says amen, he's pretty proud of himself. Gotta' start them young, right folks!

Sam is currently OBSESSED (and I do not use the term loosely) with dogs, balls and Daddy. When Dan gets home from work Sam wants nothing to do with me. I of course absolutely love it, don't judge. But if Dan has something he needs to get done it is nearly impossible. Sam is a very persistent kid he will repeat things over and over and over and over and over and over and over. You get the picture I hope. It is quite annoying and Danny and I are always calling him a broken record. Anyway, the other day Dan has some stuff he needed to get ready for a church meeting he had. Sam was all over him and would not let it go so I took him to the park. I'm sad to admit that we haven't been to the park much b/c I am a complete whimp when it comes to cold weather and this LAME weather in Utah is KILLING me. Anyway, he loved it until he got distracted by two of his favorite things. Balls and dogs. Every time we go to this park there is someone playing basketball or has a dog. I think we might need to take a break from this one for a while b/c I get sick of telling him he can't have the basketball b/c people are playing with it and we can't have the dog b/c it isn't ours.

This day he totally lucked out with the basketball. There was a teenage boy that brought 2 balls b/c he was meeting some buddies there. He was nice and let Sam play with it and Sam was LOVING it. He has become very independent. Won't hold my hand much anymore. When I hold my hand out to help him down the stairs or something he just says no and kindly directs me to move away so he can come down the stairs. I usually sing him a song or two before we lay him in his bed during a nap or at night. I don't make it through one verse of a song and he says "bed, bed, bed." He just wants to get in bed and go to sleep. Kind of makes me sad but it is super nice he goes down so easy. Well, he will cry for a few minutes after he repeatedly says bye to me as I walk out the door.
He is still obsessed with his sippy cup and "crack" juice. We call it crack juice but its just crystal light. He likes peach the best. I'm with him on this one, delicious!!
He calls broccoli poop every time he sees it. I have been trying to do better at eating my veggies. I am proud of myself, I have been doing much better. Anyway, I was steaming some broccoli the other day and he had a really concerned look on his face and he just keep saying "momma, poo poo." After I finished laughing I had to lift him up to show him that it was the broccoli I was cooking that was stinking so bad. So, anytime he sees it he calls it poo, poo. Funny kid!
He is talking a lot now which I love. He can tell me when he wants toast and yogurt and of course his sippy. He is always surprising me with the things he is learning. I am missing a ton of things but this is a good little recap for now.

Look he is finally getting some hair on his his! Isn't this such a fun stage? Josh does the exact same thing with me when I sing him before bed or naptime...he just wants his bed. I guess he has figured out my voice isn't the greatest thing. We need to all get together this month at a park and PRAY it is good weather cause I have had enough of this cold as well!

hilarious about the broccoli - its true :) I can't believe he is getting so big - I want Fox to be independent, but on the other hand, I love that he still needs me!

Too cute--it's not as cute when they're almost 12 and trying to convince you that broccoli tastes like poo. I'm sure glad I never gave our mom a hard time about any veggies! :-)
