I knew that this would happen. The deer got to my tulips, those little punks! First of all let me repeat that I hate the snow. We haven't seen the deer for about a month b/c there hasn't been any snow so they have been up higher I guess. Well that stinkin' snow storm brought them down and there were a lot of them this time. Usually there are only 4, maybe 5 deer hanging out in the back yard but this time there was like 10 of them. Not a ton but it is for the small area they rome around in. We saw them in the back orchard all day and Sam was loving it. We were up in Farmington visiting Monica (Danny's sister) and when we got home they were all hanging out in front of our house. They ran to the back when we pulled up and my neighbor came over to tell me they had just been eating her flowers so I better check mine. Sure enough the only flowers I had planted were nibbled to tiny nubs. They did spare a few so I guess I should be grateful for that but they were doing so good. The tulips were starting to get tall and I was getting really excited to see them bloom. Anyway, we put some soap in the flower bed b/c that is supposed to keep them out but we'll see. I guess I should have spoken up when Bountiful city asked residents if they thought we had a deer problem. Next time I will. The old lady across the street is a little ornery and she was ticked they were eating her flowers. She told me she wants the snipers in to take them out. Yikes! But if they stay around to eat the garden I'm going to plant that is going to be awesome, :-) I will probably agree with her. I decided I only like the deer during the winter when I don't have any greenery for them to eat.

I must not have planted my tulips deep enough b/c you can see the bulb on some of them. I think the ground must have just settled over the winter b/c I swear I planted them pretty deep.
Some of the guilty culprits
Sammy was taking a bath. Yes he does still bath in the sink and I quite honestly can't tell you the last time he took a bath in the actual bathtub. I think he has only taken a bath in the bathtub like twice in the last 4 months we have been here. Anyway, he was getting such a kick out of watching the deer outside. Poor kid also had pink eye in this picture. I could NOT believe the amount of goop there was coming out of this kids eyes. I could see it just oozing out of his tear ducts, it was crazy. Thanks to Mom S who had some drops on hand and cleared it up in like a day. I am now using the drops on myself b/c I think I have pink eye. It's a nasty infection, travels like wild fire. Anyway, I'm still holding out hope that I will get a couple of tulip to bloom. I guess I''ll just have to go to the tulips festival again this year to get my tulips fix. Get it on your calendar mom! :)

Happy BDay, Em! (I tried posting above but my computer struggles). I'm glad you had a great day. I don't know how you do it w/o Danny right now. I would die. I'm sorry about your tulips- plant daffodils next year, the deer won't touch them. I am excited for the tulip festival too. And I am excited to hear what your great gifts were...
