These shorts my friends are the shorts that I loved so much and blogged about. Okay, they aren't the exact shorts but they are the same shorts that I gave to my sister. Apparently when I bought my pair of shorts I also bought her a pair. I don't remember it but I guess I did. They are a size smaller which is fine for now but when I do get pregnant again I fear they won't be as forgiving. I cannot tell you how excited I was when i got them. And the first time I ran in them, oh my word, it was heaven. I'm telling you, I love these shorts. They were just as I remembered and every time I wear them now, I have a HUGE smile on my face. Not kidding! I won't go on and on like the last blog post but seriously one of the best gifts ever. Thanks sis for not liking them and sending them my way without telling me!! :-) I love surprises and this was a great one.
The second 'gift' is quite possibly the best purchase Danny and I have ever made. That's probably a little extreme but I am so happy with this purchase I can't even put it into words.
We got a fence and now Sam can no longer escape. The bulk of outside time has not even begun and I love, love, love having a fence. I can't even begin to tell you how nice it is to let him run around back there and not have to worry that he is running across the street to see his buddy Enzo. Or running up the middle of the street to who knows where. (That only happened once and I was carrying groceries in and talking on the phone, oops!) He is obsessed with playing over at Enzo's house. He always wants to be over there. I think it is mostly that Enzo's older brother is always out playing basketball and Sam is obsessed with basketball. Notice the hoop by my car? He loves it and makes shots all the time. I have been quite impressed. Fences are ridiculously expensive so when Danny agreed to do it I was beside myself. His buddy actually ordered all the stuff and put it in in a couple of days. He gave us a pretty good deal but sheesh, fencing is so expensive. Both of us agree that it has been and will be worth every penny.
At the beginning of the week I spent hours and hours out in the back working to get our garden ready. I really need to hurry and get my peas in. Saturday was the first day Danny didn't have to work so after he got out for a much needed golf game we borrowed his parents trailer and cleaned out the white trash garden area. I can't believe how much junk these people left at this house. I mean, look at all this. There was a sink, an old window, siding, pallets, tires, huge plastic things for who knows what.
Kind of hard to tell in these pictures but it looks sooo much better. We have a pretty big garden area and I am really excited about it. Homemade salsa, here I come!! Yard work is so much work. It took me about 3-4 hours pulling out grass from the garden area. I'm just trying to even it up and make a nice square and it has just been a mess. I did get a pretty good tan while doing it and Sam could just play around and not escape out the front b/c of the awesome fence. Love it!!! He got kind of bored so after about 45 min. to an hour he was done playing by himself and hanging on me but I don't blame him and I will take any minute he will give me.
