Christmas festivities

Well, better late then never right? Christmas was great. On Christmas Eve we headed up to Grandma and Grandpa Simmons house. We had a delicious dinner and then Santa came. I thought Sam was going to freak out but he just stared at him. He did start whining and crying a little after he was on his lap for a while but he did pretty good. As you can tell Danny and I also did very well. Except it appears that Santa couldn't look at the camera.

I am really glad we didn't spend a ton of money getting stuff for Sam b/c he didn't really know what was going on. He did love the ball set we got for him though. He didn't care so much that there were still two presents unwrapped under the Christmas tree until about New Years. He got great stuff from both sets of grandparents as did we. I got some awesome new cookbooks and an under the cabinet radio that I can plug my ipod into from my parents. I LOVE the radio. I spend a ton of time in the kitchen area so it is nice to have a radio in there now. We got this wonderful tv entertainment center from Danny's parents. Unfortunately it did not come pretty and assembled like this.

It came in two boxes with all of these pieces

For smart people they may have been able to put this together fairly quickly. For us, it took 5 hours. Yep you read that right, 5 hours. We really struggled with the first drawer. The first drawer took us 1 hour alone. We just kept putting the pieces together wrong. Anyway, we both love it. It is tall so Sammy can't touch the buttons and yank on the dvd thing like he was doing before. Sure it would look better with a nice flat screen tv on it but we will just enjoy the nice thick tv we have now. Thank you to both sets of our parents for a great Christmas. I was terrible and took 0 pictures on Christmas day. I knew I would regret it but I was just being lazy. I can't believe how fast the holiday season comes and goes. I was really sad to take down our Christmas decorations b/c it was the only thing we had in our front room and now it looks really, really bare. One of these days we will get some pictures hung and furniture. We are continuing to really love our house. Which reminds me that I need to put some more before and after pictures up. Hope you all had a great holiday season.

Can't believe Sam made it on Santa's lap. I can't think of one that has made it successfully of our kids--you must be doing something right!
