Thanksgiving weekend

We had a very busy Thanksgiving weekend. All of my siblings that live in the U.S. came up to my parents. We missed the Tennysons who are in Japan right now. We made a trip to the Utah Natural History Museum up at the University of Utah and I really liked it. Sam loved it b/c he got to run around all over. I can't tell you how much I absolutely LOVED having my nieces there to run after and play with Sam. It was wonderful! Sam really liked all of the stuffed animals and little insects that they had

After the Museum we went up to the "this is the place" monument and it was really cool. I hadn't been up there for years and I was really impressed. They had a lot of really nice of statues, I enjoyed it.

Thanksgiving Day we were going to do a turkey trot but I am kind of a baby in the cold and I didn't want to run in the cold and we just never signed up for it. I looked out my window and saw all of the runners running by in the morning and was kind of bummed we didn't do it b/c everybody looked like they were having a good time. It actually warmed up nicely too.
The Thanksgiving food was delicious! I love Thanksgiving. I just wish that my stomach held more b/c I wanted to keep eating but I was so full I couldn't pull myself to do it. The stuffing, sweet potatoes, monkey bread, pumpkin   desserts, oh the list is just making my mouth water.

Sam and I went out and enjoyed the beautiful day after the meal. And I actually got a picture of all three of us.

We really need to get a professional family picture taken but that is a completely different story. It was a great day with family.
The day after Thanksgiving we just hung out with the fam and then went to the light parade. Danny went golfing and had a great time. Poor guy has been wanting to go golfing for months but b/c of the house he never got a chance. I was glad that he was able to go. I didn't know that the light parade was that night so I didn't have Sam's hat so he had to wear one that was at my parents. If you ask me he looks pretty darn good in pink. :-) Oh, and look at that another picture with the three of us. I'm so proud of myself. I think I actually got one at Boondocks as well.

Here is me and my sister Michelle. Now you see where I get my cheesiness (is that a word?) from. Kidding Michelle! This picture made me sad I didn't get more pictures with my other siblings. That will be my goal for the next family vacation. The parade was alright. Nothing great but the kids seemed to like it. Sam liked it except for the sirens on the fire trucks. Those scared him pretty bad which surprised me b/c at our apartment we used to hear sirens all of the time and he would get excited about it. Maybe it was b/c they were so close to him, who knows.
Saturday which happened to be my parents 40th Anniversary we went to the new Boondocks in Kaysville. The weather could not have been better for the end of November. We started out mini golfing and I was terrible. The course was really hard there and I just wasn't on my A-game.

Danny did pretty good for himself but that isn't surprising. Although you can't tell from the picture Sam loved this little carousel. I got to play a few great games of skee ball. I really do love that game. We also did the go karts and those were a lot of fun. However, i do feel that I got a slow car. A few of the clan did the laser tag and they had a really good time. I'm not crazy about laser tag b/c I don't like running around in the dark and having people hide and try to get me. It just freaks me out but I'm sure it would have been fun. All in all I think Boondocks was a hit with the kids and adults alike.

That night we had a celebratory dinner for my parents Anniversary and watched a slideshow that my sister put together. She did a great job and it was a lot of fun seeing all of the pictures through the last 40 years of my parents life together. I love it when my family comes to visit. All of us usually only get to see each other a couple of times a year so it is always a ton of fun but it goes by way to fast.
