Then Mom S and I worked our tails off to get the basement painted and ready for carpet. We had a couple from our apartment complex and my visiting teacher come over and help prime and it helped a TON. Couldn't have gotten it done without their help. I missed my girlfriends annual witches brew this year to get this house done and I am still super bummed. Hope you ladies had a great time without me. I know that trying to get anything done with Sam is a complete joke but my babysitter (my mom :-) Was out of town and he doesn't do well with other people at this point so I had no other option. So I thought I would bring his baby gate and put it up in the laundry room and just let him play in there. I packed up a bunch of toys and books thinking it would entertain him. I even brought a huge thing of markers that I was willing to let him get into and he wouldn't even touch them. He just stood at the gate and screamed. He could see both Mom S and I the entire time but he still just kept screaming bloody murder. Seriously he was crying like we were leaving him on a dangerous street corner, crazy kid! Anyway so I decided that we would put the water and the paint behind the gate and we would let him run around with us. That seemed to work better but all he wanted to do was get over the gate to get to the paint and water, go figure. Well I was able to get a tiny bit done with him there and we almost made it out without too much of a mess until right before we were leaving and I found him with a paint roller that we had rolled in saran wrap. We still don't know where he found it but none the less he was in heaven making a mess. Funny that the shirt he was wearing just happened to say " I didn't do it." I had already cleaned him up a little before I took the picture but you get the idea.
He makes this face ALL OF THE TIME. I always act really excited when I;m talking to him and I see anything and so I think that is where he got this but it is so cute. Everybody just gets a kick out of it. I will have to upload the video of him making the face soon, so funny.
Anyway, we did get the basement painted after yet even more 2-3 am morning. We got our carpet last Thursday so I really wanted the painting to be done before that. I got pretty much all of it done but we still have trim to do and some touch up oh and the back entry way. I will admit that I hit a wall hard on Thursday. I have been working myself into the ground and it finally caught up to me. I did take a nap and felt a little better but no amount of diet coke could get me out of my daze Thursday. I got a good night sleep Thursday so that helped me feel a little better for the move but yet again I HATE moving. We have so much crap it is ridiculous. I do hope to simplify as I start unpacking but we will see how that goes. I admit, I have a hard time throwing/giving stuff away.
I love Halloween and as pathetic as this may sound I was planning on taking Sam trick or treating to get some candy for me. Sad I know but you all know how much I love candy. I thought that we would be able to move the remaining stuff quick on Saturday and get our apartment cleaned quick. When am I going to learn that EVERYTHING takes way more time then I think it does in my head. Needless to say we didn't even get to put Sam in his costume b/c by the time we got everything done he was ready for bed. I was so bummed.
I forgot to mention that Mom and Dad S came and helped us move on Friday and it was wonderful. They have a big trailer we were able to use and Danny and his dad were able to move all of the big stuff on Friday. Nice to have that out of the way. Yes, we did just move up the street so we didn't have a lot of driving time but it was still a move and still a pain. Okay, moving on. We had a ton of help on Saturday. Madeline came down and watched Sam and that was very, very helpful. My mom came down and helped me finish packing and cleaning the entire apartment. Dean, Trent, Dad S and Danny worked on the tile all day. THANK YOU everyone for all of your help. I've said this many time but it's true, we could not have done it without you.
So, I am really kicking myself for not taking pictures of the carpet before all of our crap was on top of it but I was wasted so it was the last thing on my mind. We love the carpet and are really glad we decided to get carpet in the bedrooms. We debated back and forth quite a bit but we are happy with our decision. We put that sticky plastic over the carpet to protect it until we are settled and I am so glad we deiced to do that. Carpeting an entire house is expensive stuff. Thanks Mom S for putting the rest of this down for us. We have a ton of work ahead of us to get everything unpacked. We are currently living at the Simmons residence. We will probably be here a couple of weeks. We can have the bathrooms and kitchen installed once the tile is done so I am very anxious to get the tile done. The guys are working their tails off to get it done and I really appreciate it. The kitchen and dining room has all been laid and they are working lat tonight so I will be anxious to see how far they got. They got most of the shower done Saturday and the tile cut for the bathrooms floor they just need to cement it down. It is so much work. No, we will never buy a fixer upper again. I know I have already said that but I am repeating it for a reason, ;-)
We were suppose to have our blinds installed on Friday but they never showed up, LAME!!! I called Paul today and he doesn't know why they never showed up. Danny got to the house tonight to work and found two long boxes in the driveway. What the @#$%! Um, we were told that the bid included installation of EVERYTHING. I guess I better not jump to conclusions but they better be installing those blinds. We are glad we have a place to lay our heads until we can be in our own home. Thank you Dad and Mom S. I am guessing it will be the beginning of December until we are even partly settled. This is going to be worth it right?
Well, it has been two weeks since I have worked out so I am going to bed early tonight so I can actually wake up early and work out. I'm sure I won't even be able to run a couple miles. Sigh. Life will get back to normal soon, I hope!
