Amazing Family and Friends

Is it a bad sign when I want the home we just bought to be BURNED DOWN?! Seriously, I am so ready to be done with everything. I think my lack of sleep is catching up with me. I have been up there painting/priming/cleaning until 2-3 in the morning the last few nights. Sam went down for a super early nap and I myself should be sleeping but I want to get caught up b/c i feel like I am getting more and more behind. We are getting  so close to being done with our part and we are getting more and more excited.
As I said in the title we have the most amazing family and friends. Last Thursday Cyd, Kell, Trent, Dean and Mom S were at our house helping. Did I forget somebody. I really can't remember now the days are all beginning to blur together. We got a couple of the bedrooms primed and ready to paint and Danny and Trent got more work done on the tile and the closets ripped out. We decided last week that we should probably get closet orgainzers b/c all that was in there was just one shelf and a rod and let's be honest we both have a lot of clothes so we thought we better maximize the tiny closet space. I didn't take a picture of the original closet but you can see where the shelf and rod were. Luckily Paul Craig who we are getting everything through is amazing and we were able to get the closets in super fast so we could get them primed and painted before the carpet goes in.

The closet isn't painted completely but you get the idea. They are nothing fancy but they will be so much better then what we had. I have two of the closets painted and one more to go. They take forever to paint which brings me to a story.
So our sheetrock guy (Richard) told me that he was going to try to borrow a paint sprayer from a friend so that we could use it. Super nice of him but when we went to use the paint sprayer we couldn't get it to work. We probably wasted over an hour trying to figure the stupid machine out and then it wouldn't work. We had taped everything up which also took a really long time so we are looking at a lot of time wasted. Kell and I were even all suited up ready to use the sprayer.

I am so bummed I didn't get my camera out more on Friday night we had so many people there helping. Mom and Dad S, Tyler, Al, Kell, Cyd, and our friend Jeremy. I really hope I didn't forget somebody. We were able to get a lot done, THANK YOU friends and family. Friday night was a little frustrating for Danny b/c he has never tiled before and so he didn't really know what he was doing. In the matter of a short 6-7 hours they had laid 2 tiles, yes 2 tiles in the half bath and one row of tiles in the shower. He was very discouraged which is understandable.
Saturday Danny's brother Dean was able to come help with the tile and boy did it go fast. I guess when you have somebody that knows what they are doing it goes a ton faster. Not to mention Dan was acting like Monk Friday night and it was quite hilarious. He had to have the level on each piece of tile and if the little bubble was just a tiny bit off from the center it would eat him alive. Funny but frustrating when we are trying to get the tile laid. Anyway, thanks to Dean and Dad S they were able to get a bunch of tile laid in the the kitchen. I really like the tile we chose, I think it is going to look great when all is said and done.

We are having the same tile in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms. My mom was at our apartment until around 11:30 sitting with Sam while he slept and my girlfriends stayed until around 11:30 ish. Again, all of our friends and family are wonderful and have helped so much. We keep telling them thank you but I really hope that they realize how truly grateful we are. There is no way we could have gotten this far without them.
Saturday morning we started bright and early. Mom and Dad S, Dean, and my parents all came to help. My mom watched Sam (again) and my dad helped me paint the bedrooms. We made a pretty darn good team I think. Mom S painted the entire living room and down the hall and she was sick the whole time. My mom brought us lunch and that was quite delicious. Oh and to continue with the paint sprayer story. Everybody kept telling us how easy it is to use paint sprayer so we thought we would rent one to use all day Saturday. Danny took the time to go get the stupid thing and my dad and I wasted yet again another hour trying to figure the stupid thing out and come to find out that the spray nozzle was clogged. What the ?@#$%! I was so mad so Danny took it back and we got our 85 bucks back. I could have painted a ton with all the time I wasted on those paint sprayers. Yes, I am sure if I had one that worked great and I knew what I was doing the painting would go fast and would probably look a lot better but I don't care. I'm so mad we wasted our time with those. Anyway, the whole upstairs is painted and it feels good. I still need to do touch ups and all the trim needs to be painted but the main parts have all been painted so that is good.

This is going to be Sam's room and it is a super light green.

This is what we like to call the happy room. The yellow is little brighter then we were expecting but I still actually really like it.

NOt the best picture of the master bedroom color but it's the best I have and I LOVE the color It's like a grayish blue. The closet looks terrible b/c it isn't painted so try to just look at the room color. :-)

Here is the front living room. The color on the wall with the fireplace is a little bit darker then the other walls due to our previous paint fiasco. We had a bunch of darker paint so we thought we would try using it on just one wall. Not a huge difference but I really like it. And below is the hallway. You are appreciating all of these pictures right? I hope I am not boring you but it is mostly for me to remember so...
The wood floors got sanded and stained yesterday and they are beautiful, Danny and I both LOVE them. They still have to put the coating on today and tomorrow but I will get a picture of them as soon as I can. The basement is done and ready to be painted. I went up there late last night and got the bedroom cleaned and primed. It took me a good 4-5 hours. It is so nice that we can start cleaning up some of all the work equipment I am sick of walking over it. Okay, Sam is awake now so I gotta' go. More updates later when I get my Diet Coke IV implanted. :-)

Em, I am loving your play by plays and am exhausted just reading about all your hard work! Let me know if I can help in any way. I can take Sam anytime...I'm sure he'd warm up to the Drake and I soon enough! The end is near, enjoy your diet coke, and stay away from the matches for a while!
