We got our new windows and we love them!! It took them about a day and a half to put them all in but we are so happy they are finally in. Now we just have to send all the little tags in to questar gas and the government and we have money coming our way, woohoo! We really couldn't have chosen a better time to buy a house with all these rebates and what not. We obviously won't be getting our white blinds installed until all the painting is done so I bought some sheets and cut them all up and put them in the windows until we can get the blinds in. It drives me crazy not having anything in the windows when we are working, especially at night. Nobody likes being in a fish bowl for all to see.
That crooked overhang over the door continues to drive me CRAZY! As does hard water stains on the brick. I must find a solution for both. It will probably have to wait until spring but it really bugs me.
We hired someone to do all of our Sheetrock. I actually got a couple of different bids from people off KSL and this guy was the cheapest and really seemed like he knew what he was talking about. He has found a ton of little things that Danny and I didn't even think about. He is a fast worker and got all this Sheetrock hung in one day. He had to wait to work in the bedroom until our electrician got some wiring done down there. I am already really glad we decided to pull down the wood paneling and put in the insulation and Sheetrock. It is going to look great!
He has the Sheetrock done in the kitchen as well. Pretty soon you won't even be able to tell there was a little wall there.
He keeps telling me "just wait until I get the mudding and tapping done, it is going to look great." I have found a few little things that I forgot to have him bid and he told me he would do them for me if I bought him some Gatorade. Sweet! He is also going to texture the ceilings in the basement and upstairs. He is also going to be fixing Sheetrock in the bathrooms. He is doing a ton for us for under $1000. That is an amazingly good deal for those of you that may not know. It is sooo nice that we don't have to worry about getting that hung all by ourselves. There is no way we would be able to move in on time. He isn't going to be done until probably next Saturday b/c it takes a while for the mud and tape to dry and I guess you have to do a few coats of each. But he says when he is done it will be ready to paint. So once the Sheetrock is done all we need to do is tile and paint and we will be ready for everything to be installed. We are getting more and more excited as we begin to see things come together. I think my favorite new things in the house is the canned lighting in the living room. I love, love, love it! We still have to get the trimming that we will put in them but that happens after we paint. I went up there last night to clean up b/c the place was a mess and the mess was driving me crazy. It was so nice to be able to open the door and flip on the switch and have light. Previously I had to stumble through the dark and walk to the breaker box to turn on the canned lighting in the kitchen. I am a cry baby in the dark to so I hated it. While I was cleaning I was planning on where I was going to put the Christmas tree. You have no idea how excited I am that we will have room for a christmas tree. Anyway, enough of that just know that I love it!
Once he has all of our Sheetrock hung (which I believe is the messy part) we can start painting the bedrooms so I think we will be doing that next week. We need to get new rain gutters on as well so hopefully we will get those done this week. Also, it is a good thing that we live like 80 yards from the house or I would probably go crazy. You have no idea how many times I have to go up and down, up and down to meet workers and what not. I HATE having Sam up there b/c he squirms and whines trying to get down. When there aren't nails and screws everywhere I can let him down and that will be VERY, VERY nice. More updates to come of course!
On a completely different note, Danny took his first section of the CPA exam on Saturday. We won't know if he passed for a couple of weeks but what a relief that it is over. I am so proud and happy for him. One step closer to being a CPA, yippee!!
Sam continues to make us laugh ALL THE TIME! He loves to play in the fridge and the other day I left it open while I was getting stuff out for lunch and he helped himself to a yogurt. He continues to love books and now only takes one nap in the afternoon. I'm not going to lie, I still really wish he would take a nap in the morning but I guess this is growing up.

You have come so far! I am so excited to see the finished product because it is going to look so great. We will be waiting for your house warming party!
so exciting - I would LOVE new windows (cut the noise of the freeway and all), so I'm very jealous. That is a good deal for all that drywall, hope you're planning on at least buying him one of those big things of gatorade :)
Looks so good...
Em it is really looking great! We will have to get together when the craziness of your life has settled down a bit! Sam man is a doll!
