Dynamite?

As you can see there is a beautiful white trash shed in the back of the house. This shed was completely full of junk. The most random things like a bag of shoes, buckets of screws and nails, old paint, bug lights and the list goes on and on. I was cleaning all the junk out so Danny could take it down to the dump and I ran across something that looked like this

It was 4 barrell things tied together just like that. I didn't see a fuse but I didn't pick it up and look at it b/c I thought that would be a stupid thing to do. I just left it there and decided I would call the police today and see what they recommend I do. So I called the police station today and told them that I found something that looked like dynamite in a shed I was cleaning out. They said they would send somebody out to look at it. Sam was asleep at the time so I was wishing I would have waited to call but it was to late now. So I kept looking up the street and about 10 minutes after I called there was a red suburban with the fire stickers all over it. So I had to run in the apt. grab Sam and wake him up from his nap (which I was NOT happy about). So I run up there and took the guy out back to show him where it was. He told me to go up to the front of the house and "they" would check it out. They? It was just this one guy. But as I walked to the front of the house, a huge fire truck and an ambulance are parked out front and there are about 6 police/fire men walking up the driveway. I was like "oh no, you guys are going to have all the neighbors out here." They all just laughed and said "yep we probably will." So they found the dynamite looking stuff and come to find out it was just Fusses. I guess they are kind of like road flares. I felt soooo stupid. But they were all super, super nice and told me I did the right thing b/c you never know what people will have. Sure, sure, sure. They told me they would take it and get rid of it. Surprisingly there was only one neighbor that came out. Thank heaven more people weren't home. You know how that can turn into a circus. What a mess.
And to top the day off I locked the keys to the house in the house and had to pry a window open and crawl in to get them out. Then I couldn't get the window closed. Danny was busy taking the Honda to the shop to see if his cousins shop could fix it cheaper then $1600 which is what one shop was telling us it was going to cost. Seriously? We just bought a house and really don't want to have to buy a new car. So if your car is worth around $1600 do you pay that to get it fixed or just sell it and get a new one? We are hoping that his cousins place can fix it for cheaper. What a day.
