Sam has officially been out longer then he was in. This post is a little late but I had to wait a while to post to make the first statement true because Sam was 8 days overdue in case any of you forgot. I have actually pretty much forgotten how miserable I was being overdue. I didn't think I would ever forget.
Anyway, here are Sam's latest stats:
Weight: 19 lbs. 13 oz.- 50%
Height: 28 1/2- 50%
Head: 44cm- 15%
So, his head continues to be super small. You can't really tell and the doctor isn't worried about it so I'm okay with it. Lot's of people thought Sam was going to be an easy 23 or 24 pounds but he wasn't even 20. I don't know, maybe it is his cheeks that are deceiving. But he has pretty big thighs as well. I don't know. the doctor even looked at the chart and decided to re-weigh him b/c he was surprised he wasn't even 20, who knows.
You aren't suppose to have to get shots at your 9 month appointment but there has been a Hib Vaccine shortage so Sam hadn't gotten his Hib shot the last 2 times he was suppose to. They finally saved one for him so he did end up having to get a shot, bummer. He did good though. Let me see if I can think of some of the things he is doing at 9 months:
-Sleeps in the craziest positions and moves ALL NIGHT LONG. I check on him probably once or twice an hour before I go to bed and almost ever time I go to check on him he is in a different position. He is a stomach sleeper now. Lot's of the times he is up on his knees with his tummy down. Crazy kid!
-Sleeps with a little blue stuffed elephant every night and holds on to the elephants paw, so cute!
- Loves animal crackers
-LOVES to watch himself in our home videos on the computer. I will have to get him on camera watching himself b/c it is hilarious.
- Crawls everywhere and pulls himself up on anything. He is getting pretty good at scaling the walls. Super strong kid.
- Still LOVES to nurse. I have heard that lot's of kids wean themselves around 9 months but Sam is nowhere near that. He still nursers every 3 1/2-4 hours. I have a feeling weaning is going to be a challenge.
- LOVES his grandparents. Every time we go to either of our parents houses he gets the biggest smiles on his faces when he sees both sets of our parents. Danny and I love that he loves our parents so much.
- Loves to look at himself in pictures on the camera. He likes it when you take a picture of him on your camera and then show him the picture. He knows when it isn't a picture of him and gets kind of upset until you show him a picture of himself. Should I be worried about that?
-Loves to read books and definitely has his favorites. He will just start laughing when I get his favorite books out.
-Has an amazing eye for the tiniest things. I think this is pretty typical for babies this age but I am just amazed and the smallest little things he finds, it is crazy.
-Still laughs ridiculously easy
-Finally has his first tooth. His top right middle tooth finally broke through and the other middle one is on its way.
-Put anything and everything in his mouth. Pretty typical 9 month kid behavior.
-For some reason he hates to be changed now. He used to love to have his diaper changed but now he doesn't really like it and if you aren't fast enough he will flip over and crawl away before you get a chance to put his new diaper on. Smiling all the while of course, stinker!
-Loves to go out on runs with me. He will just stare the whole time and when I stop to check on him he is usually staring so hard he won't even look at me. Lot's of mornings he is the only reason I get out and exercise. Thanks pal!
-Get's sooo many comments on his huge cheeks, smile and just how happy he is. He is such a little charmer so random people love him and feel like they need to stop and talk to me forever it seems like. I am a friendly person I promise. :)
-Doesn't eat very many solid foods. Real hit or miss with the barley/oatmeal cereal, bananas, peas. I blame myself for this but we are working on it.
I will have to add some other things as I think about it but this is long enough for now. Oh and I haven't had a chance to take any recent pictures of him. Mostly b/c I am still mourning the loss of my favorite lens. Which would cost more to fix then it would to replace. More pictures to come soon but I will just include these of him doing his favorite thing, climbing.

Cute, cute, cute. Can't wait to see him and have the rest of my family meet him!
love the update - I can't believe he has a small head, his cheeks must throw the visual off :)
AND I got that yellow/blue striped outfit for our new little one, too :)
Adorable pictures! Just wait until he can walk then he will really be climbing everything!
