Family Home Evening

Mom S gave us an awesome present for Christmas that I am so excited about it. She gave us this tupperware box full of Family Home Evening lessons. It was a TON of work and we are so grateful for all of the long hours of coloring and hard work put in on our behalf. She also gave us a flannel board for flannel stories which I LOVED growing up and can't wait to use for teaching our kids. Look at all of those lessons she did for us.

She did 7 of these for all of the families or girls that will have families in the future, that is a ton of work. THANK YOU!!! Her original idea was that each of us would make 7 of the same Family Home Evening lesson each month and we would exchange them so our bucket will fill quickly with FHE lessons and ideas. That has had a hard time taking off however. I think we are still trying to figure out what we are going to do continue to fill our buckets. I was a good girl and made my lesson. It was a little story about manners with these dinosaurs.

It is surprising how long it takes when you have to do something for 7. It took forever to color, cut, glue the sticks on 70 dinosaurs. You should see the lesson Mom S gave us this month. Seriously, so much work. I am amazed that she did this for all of us but am so glad that she did. I am borrowing a bunch of my moms lessons and just making them for me. My bucket will be full in no time, I hope! :-) I know I probably won't use these for a couple years but I figure, I may as well do it now while I only have one kid requiring my time. Hopefully by the time kids are ready to listen to lessons I will have an endless supply of FHE lessons. Thanks again Mom S, you are amazing. We know it took forever and we are grateful!!!

That is a great idea! I would really love to do that but I just got to find the motivation. Maybe Ill have to look at yours for some good ideas.

that's pretty cute - we've used up all our cute FHE ideas, so we usually pick something the girls have been talking about that day and then pick a scripture story and theme that goes along with it... I could sure use some dinosaurs, though :)

I'm not sure we ever really had anything that would classify as cute for FHE, that bin sounds AWESOME. I'll have to check it out in June to steal some ideas.
