The beginning of a schedule, could it be????

When Sam was first born it drove me crazy that I didn't know exactly when he would take a nap, eat, etc. I found out that I really like to have a schedule. I have relaxed a lot since the first month and it doesn't bother me half as much. However, I would like him to have some sort of schedule. He is still young, I realize that. But,I think there are definite signs of some sort of a schedule. Every morning for the last week or two ( I can't remember exactly when I started) he wakes up around 7 or 7:30. He eats and then sits in his bouncer for a minute if I
have something I need to do before I run. If not, after I play with him for a minute I will put him in his swing and go get ready for my run. Sometimes he will fall asleep pretty quick but most of the time he will just chill in the swing and look around for 10-20 minutes before he falls asleep. At this point I am running on the treadmill and he will dose off. I often times wonder if it is the sound of the treadmill that lulls him to sleep. Anyway, he will sleep for 30-45 minutes while I workout. Sometimes I even have time to shower before he wakes up.
This morning he must have been super tired b/c I put him in the swing at about 8:30 and he didn't wake up until 12. I ran, showered, folded laundry, pulled up my tomato plants, planted the tulips and daffodils my mom gave me and finished a work project I have been helping with before I turn in my laptop and retire from Healthways. Wow, that was a run on sentence, don't care. :-)
On typical days he will wake up from his nap around 10 and we will hang out for a half an hour until he is ready to eat again. Most of the mornings after he eats around 10:30, he will hang out while I shower and then be ready for another nap. I will lay him down around 11:30 or 12 and he cries for 5-10 minutes and then take another 45-60 minute nap. I love it when he sticks to this schedule. Who knows if it will last. But I have loved knowing that I don't have to get up at 4 to go to the gym to run if I know Sam will cooperate and let me workout while he naps. I need to get up early and go lift but I haven't been too good at that quite yet. At least I'm getting my cardio in right? The afternoons are completely random. He usually doesn't sleep during the afternoon but I will take this small schedule for now if he will stick to it.

it is SO nice when you have an idea of what your day will be like - hopefully he'll stick with it!

You are an inspiration! I hope that I will be able to do something similar once we have a baby. It would be nice to have an elyptical in the house for that!
