Thoroughly Modern Millie Tea Party!

The day after the blessings (July 11th) Camille threw her annual Tea Party.  It was amazing as usual.

I'm always so impressed with her awesome decorating.  And the food, oh my goodness.  It was delicious, all of it!
I almost feel like the below sandwiches deserve their own post because they were just that amazing.  I'm going to need to call Mom S and ask her how she made them again b/c seriously, they were delicious.  I'm drooling as we speak.

I made the above salad.  It was just an average spinach salad but those candied pecans.  Heaven help me!  I tried doing the egg white method and LOVED the results.  I ate so many I probably shouldn't have eaten for 2 days from all the calories I consumed but they were so, so good.  I put the pecans in egg whites first and then put them into the sugar/cinnamon mixture and then baked them in the oven for one hour.  I will be making them again soon, very soon!

The theme this year was Thoroughly Modern Millie.  I'm going to be completely honest here, I always have the worst, WORST costumes.  This is the best Ellie and I had to offer this year.  I know, it's pathetic!

But this, this outfit was by far the best.  I don't know how she comes up with these things but she always looks the best. This was one of her friends daughters dance outfit when she was in High School and a size 0.  Impressive folks, very impressive.  She looked awesome!

We had lunch and then she had these super cute crafts for us to make.  I forgot to get a picture of the finished product but they were white board with super cute knobs of different shapes, sizes and colors we could choose from.  I will probably hang necklaces on mine.  I made a super cute one for Ellie as well.

We finished off the tea party with prizes.  She always has prizes for everybody.  Even those of us with really lame costumes.

It is so much work every year but she keeps on doing it.  I love it!  Can't wait for next year!

And since it was 7/11 after I picked Sam up from my parents since boys weren't invited we ran by 7-11 for a free slurpee.  I'm not going to lie, it was hot, the lines were long and the slurpees never even came close to being finished.
