The last Wednesday of every month in the winter is free admission to the Hogle Zoo. It was going to be in the 40's and since that is the warmest it has been in a while even though I hate the cold I decided to buck up and go to the zoo. Sam literally asks to go to the zoo 3-4 times a week so I decided this is a great way to get out of the house during this LONG January month. It was okay but I am definitely glad we got in for free. There were no elephants, no rhinos and it just seemed like the animals were a little lacking. Of course they had a lot of monkeys which Sam liked. He really liked this big tortoise, can you tell?
We had fun watching the tigers play around. The giraffe's were pretty sweet too. I really do like giraffe's, they're just so pretty.
The one rhino that we did see. Pretty sweet huh?
It was a great free activity and we both had a good time. I am so glad that January is almost over. It really has gone by fast but it's just such a long, cold month.
