Easter Sunday

As I mentioned in the 'Saturday Fun' post, Sunday was wonderful. I think Sam actually slept in until 6:45 am. What a good boy. :) Sam was like a little puppy just following Dan around. It was really cute and really nice for me. He wasn't hanging on me all day. Poor Sam just loves Dan and doesn't get to see him a lot. Hopefully that will change soon. They played ball, (of course) read books and it was just so nice spending time together not hurrying to get ready and go to church or church meetings.
Sam was so tired from the busy week that he was ready for a nap super early. I put him down around 10:30 and he has been going down really good going down for naps and bed lately so when he started freaking out I knew something was up. I knew he was tired so I wasn't going to go in there and get him. Dan went in and it was silent from then on. I knew they had both fallen asleep. I honestly think Sam didn't want to fall asleep b/c he was having so much fun playing with his daddy. He just wanted his Dad I guess.
I meant to get Sam a cute easter outfit but I just never did. I had to put him in some sort of eastery/springy looking outfit so I put him in this cute plaid jacket compliments of my good friend Cyd. I thought he looked adorable.

We went to my parents first to hang out with Jen and her family b/c they were going home that day. The kids just played around and we watched/listened to most of the afternoon session of conference until we said our goodbyes and headed over to the Simmons. Before we left my parents gave us a bag full of Easter goodies and a really cool puzzle.  And look at me, I got another picture with me in it. A picture with all three of us, I'm so proud.
We had the annual Simmons Easter egg hunt before we ate dinner. Sam didn't have a clue what was going on but he had a great time and actually found a couple eggs all on his own. He loved the candy in the eggs though. Not surprising. Mom S really outdid herself. She had so much stuff out in the backyard and I quite enjoyed myself as well. Look how excited and happy Sam is about the new outfit he got.
We all had a great time. Thanks Mom and Dad S! After the egg hunt we had dinner and it was so delicious. I really loved having conference on Easter. Its a great reminder that Christ lives! I loved conference by the way. Did you all notice how many talks mentioned the family and how we need to be teaching our kids more? Seriously I swear almost every person mentioned the importance of the family. It was a WONDERFUL Easter/Conference Sunday and both Dan and I didn't want it to end. I did absolutely nothing for Easter so I am glad we both have awesome parents who do great stuff. I do love holidays I'm just not going to spend the money when my kid doesn't understand why he's getting new stuff. Thanks parents for being so awesome. Can you believe it's April? Where in the world is the time going? I'm not sure but I do know that it is going very fast.

Sam, ready for his egg hunt!!

That is the sweetest picture of sam with his daddy. And I also LOVED easter being over conference weekend. It was smart of you not to do any easter baskets, I think I did them mainly for me but afterwards I realized it wasn't worth the money AT ALL! Josh is way too young and didn't need more candy and sugar, he gets enough of that.
