Thanksgiving

I am super late to post this but at least I'm getting it done right? We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. It was sooo nice having Dan home Thursday to Sunday. We started our Thanksgiving day by stopping by my parents house to visit for about an hour. We managed to fit in a couple good games of Jenga before we left.

After the quick visit at my parents we headed up to Tremonton for our Thanksgiving feast. Danny's grandparents live up there so we went up to their place. I was responsible for bringing a pie. I made a caramel pecan pie. I originally thought that it didn't turn out b/c it seemed runny so I ran to the store and got an Apple pie instead. Turns out it set up just fine and was quite tasty. Oh well....
I hardly took any pictures up there and am kicking myself for it. I did get a couple of pictures of our place settings so at least we can remember what that looked like right? I think I got my camera out at the very beginning and then the meal started and it just got crazy and I neglected the camera. I'm so lame sometimes. It was all set up so nice and the food was quite delicious. My favorite was of course the sweet potatoes. I LOVE THEM!!! Everything was really good though. Sam started to get fussy right when I was finishing my first small plate full so I didn't even stuff myself. It was great! Danny's favorite was the sweet potatoes and the mashed potatoes. He doesn't like turkey. Crazy huh? I love turkey and the turkey was nice and moist, yummy! I'm making myself hungry here. After we ate we just sat around and socialized. Sam was super tired so we had to leave to take him on a drive to get him to fall asleep. Unfortunately he was awake about 10 min. after we got back. Poor kid just couldn't get any rest. We left Danny's grandparents at about 6:30 and stopped by my parents again. Sam was asleep before we even put him in the car to leave. He slept in his carrier until about 11 or 12, I can't remember now. He was wiped out. Anyway, it was great to be able to spend time with both families. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Simmons for hosting all of us. It was a great time with GREAT food.
