Baby blessing

We blessed Sam on Sunday and it was a great day. Dan's mom saved the outfit that Dan was blessed in so we blessed Sam in the same outfit Danny was blessed in, cool huh? I thought it was awesome. If we would have waited any longer it wouldn't have fit him. We couldn't do the last button up that was around his neck but it still looked super cute. I didn't have time to take pictures of him in his outfit before church b/c it was just pure chaos getting ready. I know, I only have one child and our church is at 1 but it was still so crazy. I plan on putting him in the outfit in the next day or so for a photo shoot so stay tuned for those pictures.
Aside from being really nervous Dan did a great job. I was super nervous for him. Sam also did great. We were a little nervous that he would be screaming the whole time because he was was so tired but he didn't cry at all. Sounds like there was a lot of nervousness going on huh? Sam was actually quite pleasant all day. He was just smiling and happy with everybody who held him. The poor kid didn't get a nap all day.
However, that night we were at my parents and Sam was asleep in his carrier in my parents room. He woke up and was just screaming. Now Sam cries but this was a cry that Dan or I had never heard before. We couldn't comfort him and I thought that something was really wrong with him. I got a cold last week and so he has started to get a little congested the last couple of days. We could just hear the congestion in his chest when he was crying and it was terrible. I actually broke down in tears b/c we couldn't figure out what was wrong and it was very unlike him. (Thanks Liz for giving me a hug and telling me it was okay to cry. ) Anyway, I decided to try to feed him and see if that helped. He ate and seemed to be fine after that. He hasn't been his normal self today though. I just think that he doesn't feel very good. I know all the moms out there understand how terrible it is to have sick kids. I am NOT looking forward to all of the sick kids I will take care of in the future years. It just breaks your heart that you can't help them you know? Hopefully he is on the up and up and he will be back to his normal happy self soon, very soon. Oh and if your child is sick at all, they won't be coming within 10 feet of Sam. Even though I'm pretty sure he got sick from me, I am going to be super conscious to make sure that he is away from anybody who is sick. My mom offered to come down and watch him while we are at church and we are definitely going to be taking her up on that offer. Danny is in primary and I don't like the thought of Sam being in there with a bunch of snot nosed kids. :-) And I don't want him passed around to all of the YW girls so that they won't listen to my lesson and can also get him sick. Anyway, I digress.
After the baby blessing we went to Danny's parents house to have lunch. We had pulled chicken sandwiches, salads and desserts. It was quite delicious. We feel so blessed to have such supportive family and friends. Thanks to our great families who took the time to come and to our supportive friends as well. We really appreciate the love and support.

Emily, Sam is a doll! Honestly, you could just kiss those little checks all day long! So sweet! We blessed Owen one year ago on December 2nd! Great memories!
